Sand, Pasta, and Glue Arts & Crafts Projects

I don’t have much time to write, but wanted to post quickly 2 very easy arts and crafts projects we did this week that were really fun.  They are both young toddler friendly, as long as you don’t mind working with glue.  Personally, I’m a bit like Miss Lippy (Billy Madison)…I’d happily have glue smeared all over my body so I could enjoy peeling / rolling / picking it all off after it dries.  So fun!  Anyone else weird like me?  Jack is not and totally freaked his $hit when he glue got on his hands.  I had to WORK to convince him it was ok to have dirty hands.  WTF?!  Anyway, I pretty much just let the kids go nuts with the glue a few paint brushes, then had sand and/or uncooked pasta for them to decorate their glue pattern.  Jack was super proud of his glue art pictures.  My biggest challenge was keeping Finley from eating pieces of the uncooked pasta off his project!

So, we have been working on a CRAZY house project.  It is MASSIVELY transforming our home and I cannot wait to unveil it…but I won’t until it’s complete, which is still 2-3 weeks away.  Here is a clue, it’s a website from which I got many of my ideas and inspiration.  You guys are going to die when you see what we’re doing; it’s pretty ridiculous!

Oh, and for those of you who are interested, here is a blog my brother, Jeremy, and his 2 best friends from college are using to detail their adventures through Asia, and they’re on twitter too…in case you want to be amused. I think they just left Singapore for Cambodia.

Lastly, Granjoe is in town and the kids are loving the extra attention.  We are offer to soccer now with the kids (we start ‘em young here;)!

Ok, I got a Company Kids catalog in the mail today and right on the front was a modeling contest…and naturally I thought of Jack because I’m sure those kids in the catalog are nice and all but their nowhere near as photogenic at Jack - he’s a natural.

Will he be 3 by August 31st? You may have to wait until then to enter because they have to be 3.

If your project is what I think it is (after seeing your clue of course!) they you are totally the most fun family i’ve ever “known”!

Funny, b/c I was looking at P@rents or P@renting magazine, I can’t remember which (aren’t they the same?) and they had an article entitled “Fun House” or something that was doing stuff in the house like what you may be doing. There was a swing in one of the little girl’s rooms. Oh, if only we had rooms large enough to do that…looks like a blast! Oh, and of course I love the Einstein quote from the website. (Then again, I heart anything Einstein..)
