Cultural Imperialism?
So I’d read this piece of adoption literature somewhere that parents adopting internationally should not assume that people from their child’s birth country be happy to hear of the adoption news, and that, perhaps there’d be some feelings of resentment, shame, sadness, etc. when, for example, a Vietnamese person sees 2 white parents with a child of Vietnamese ethnicity.Â

Um…who is doing the singing?
Hey guys, I just figured out this dumb blogging thing, but I’ve been reading the updates everyday. Jackson is soo cute, I can’t wait to see him under the Christmas tree with a little bow on his head haha. Give him lots of hugs and kisses for me. Your posts are the only thing getting me through my finals, so keep it up. I love you guys a lot and I can’t wait to see you all. Hey Papa T-Bone, I think you should stay in Vietnam and open a consulting business, you’d probably bring in Dong hand over fist, and if you want I’ll come run the books for you, keep track of all your Dong, I’m pretty good at handling the Dong… hahaha o man that shit is hysterical. Oh yeah, I picked up some sweet Hoyas Basketball stuff for Jackson today, so Uncle Al can’t completely make him a Hokie baby, he’d look too hick in ALL Hokies stuff. I love you all and hurry up and bring that cute little baby back home.
Well, I just saw this post. I liked the part that Jackson’s “so easy”! What’d you do to him before you got to our house? He is a cutie. Maybe he was really content UNTIL he figured out you were going to keep singing to him? How’s the chanting coming along? I’m gonna look for some of that monk music for you guys! Love ya.
