7cm and Counting
So we finally headed over the the hospital and got settled in for the delivery. Laur was 7cm dilated and 80% effaced when we got here, which is awesome. I can’t believe what a rock star she has been through all this. I knew she was tough but this is pretty ridiculous. The midwives seem to be equally impressed with the way she has handled labor. Anyway, she’s spent time on the birth ball, in the tub, and walking the halls showing off what all the nurses and midwives are calling the coolest labor gown they’ve seen. We’re hopeful she keeps moving along and gets this baby out in the next several hours.

Maaaaaan! This is crazy! As of 10:18pm in Denver, no word of baby yet. Still pushing, still progressing as far as Laurie’s Mom, Dad, and big sister (that’s me) know…Hopefully we will hear something SOON! (I’m hoping Travis will call and make a liar of me 1 minute after I press “submit.” Cross your fingers!)

OMG I am SO waiting to hear! I can’t believe this - talk about marathon labor! I was up like 4 times last night with crazy dreams about you guys - I dreamed it was a baby girl named Riley - go figure! Who’s Riley?!?! OH I just can’t stand it! ………… so nervous……………

Ok, I’m *so* glad to read that I’m not the only ’sad loser’ (ha ha pokes fun at self) that is manically hitting refresh a few times. Trying to distract myself with some other random task on the computer - only to get sucked back in and checking again to see how things are going!! Man I’m grateful for those updates from Lauries big sis, because otherwise I would seriously have no nails left at the end of this epic labour! I’m crossing all my fingers and my very swollen preggy toes that all is going well in CO.

Hey guys! Hope everything is okay. I am sure it is, but we are all dying here. I am with Nicki, I would be so embarassed if you saw how many times I get on your blog a day. I am a little curious to know how many hits you are getting a day for the past several days. It is enough to crash your site occasionally. There have been a lot of times that I have not been able to get on.
I am thinking your little one must have made an entrance by now - right? Your labor pictures were beautiful, I love looking at mine and remembering the “marathon”. We also took some photos of our little ones feet and in our hands that are priceless. Maybe one with Jackson, Shane and Baby Belly’s all together?

OMGosh poor Laurie!!! *4* days of labor?!?!? no matter how she gives birth, she is a SUPERHERO in my book!!! i’ve heard stories of 3-day labors before, but never 4!!
and i just want to add, the most important thing is not how u give birth, but how you *raise* the child!!
i just had to throw that in, b/c i was so very disappointed with my 1st labor & delivery having an emergency C-section. i’m sure Laurie’s will work out fine, but i know a lot of women feel like they “failed” if they end up with a C-section or getting an epidural… but no woman ever “fails” at giving birth to a beautiful baby!! 
(and on a sidenote, i also had a VBAC, yeah!). but either way, it doesn’t matter once u see their precious little face…
and i’m still “feelin” girl but i have been wrong before : P
You go girl! I had a dream last night that you had a girl. Here’s hoping that she/he makes their arrival SOON.

I certainly hope your day has been far more productive than mine has been, Laurie! I can’t tear myself away from your blog … hoping someone has word. And to add to hopingforgirl’s comment –”productive” can definitely mean more than your planned vaginal delivery. Birth is birth is birth. Praying you and Baby Good are healthy, regardless of how s/he arrives.

Me too, Jena and Stacy. Trying not to, but starting to worry. Can’t help it- if Laurie was pushing last night at 10:00 (which isn’t that what her sis’ update said?), then how can she still be in labor? They don’t let pushing go on beyond a few hours. I must be missing a piece of news? Does anyone know anything? My life is on hold, guys! Gotta hear something! It’s crazy. My kids keep asking if we’re going to visit this baby, because they assume we MUST know these people if Mom is so interested. Nope, kids… Mommy has just become one of those pitiful computer junkies. Deal with it. LOL!

Michelle, I know how you feel. My kid went to lunch with his granparents and came home asking if I had heard anything. They were all saying they didn’t know I had “friends” in Colorado. I didn’t have the heart to tell them I DON’T EVEN KNOW THESE PEOPLE IN PERSON!!!!!! So I lied and said they were friends from school. You see what you’ve done to us Laurie, Travis, Jackson, Shane and BB!!!!! You guys are quite a phenomenon!!!! You have people all over the world pulling for you and yours. Hoping for good news soon…..Gotta go try to explain this whole thing to my kid,
